Content note: this conversation includes discussion of sexual assault and an abusive relationship.
Angela Harger Thompson moved to Los Angeles at 30 with a Honda Civic full of everything she owned and a dream she'd had since she was four. Two months in, a producer who promised to keep her safe drugged and assaulted her. She reported it, fought for justice, and when the case was dropped, chose to heal right there in LA.
A few years later, burned out and waiting for her big break, she said yes to crewing a sailboat from Panama to the Marquesas. She had never sailed. One week out, COVID shut the world down. Borders closed, plans changed by the day, and a six-week trip became 49 days at sea, including sixteen days with just two people on board and a storm near the equator.
She kept the camera rolling. That footage became her documentary Quarantine at Sea, and the rest of the story became her memoir, Worst Tits Ever.
