My friend, Hector Santiesteban, built a custom skill for Claude Code that turns long-form podcast episodes into short-form clips. Auto-transcription, AI scoring of the best moments, face tracking, captions, audio enhancement, platform exports. The whole thing.
I got my hands on it for The Life Shift Podcast to test it on a really old episode (example attached) – and then I just kept going.
I worked with the Claude Code to tweak the skill to fit my own preferences (framing, color, logo, etc.), and it pulled the 8 highest-scoring emotional moments from a 68-minute episode, built a custom branded frame in a specific color, enhanced the audio to broadcast standard, and exported 24 upload-ready files for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Reels. I'm sure I will tweak it further as I use it more.
All of it ran locally on my machine. No subscription tool (except my Claude subscription). No manual editing. Just a well-built skill, a good collaborator, and a Thursday night.
@hector_podcast, you built something genuinely impressive. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. Honored to know you.
