Please note: this story includes seizures and medical trauma, described plainly.
Travis White was twenty-three and newly engaged. He was working on web development homework when he started to feel off. His chest was beating strangely. He kept zoning out. When he got up to turn off the light, it took him five tries to find the switch.
The next thing he remembers is being surrounded by paramedics, security and police. The first thing they asked was what drugs he had taken. He had taken none. Blood vessels had burst under his eyes and down his chest and back. At the ER, a doctor said it was probably a seizure. Two days later, he had another.
In this part of his conversation on The Life Shift, Travis talks about the weeks that followed. Forty to fifty seizures. A week of 24 hour monitoring. A driving ban that took away his independence. And the day he told the hospital he just wanted to go home.
