Rebe Huntman is the author of My Mother in Havana: A Memoir of Magic & Miracle (Monkfish Books, 2025), which traces her search to connect with her mother, thirty years after her death, among the gods and saints of Cuba. A former professional Latin and Afro-Cuban dancer and choreographer, she directed Chicago's award-winning Danza Viva Center for World Dance, Art & Music for over a decade. Her essays and stories appear in The Southern Review, The Missouri Review, Lit Hub, and The Cincinnati Review. She lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and Delaware, Ohio.
